Friedensreich Hundertwasser
Hundertwasser’s is the most photographed toilet in the world
See
Luckily I was already on the other side of the world when I realized this toilet was not too far off the road to our destination. We spent some time admiring this wonder and the other impacts, Hundertwasser had on this small town, Kawakawa, in New Zealand.
This bathroom experience was like visiting Hundertwasser’s playground! The colorful tiles and bottles integrated into the walls, the metalwork, and the creativity filling this space will definitely make your stop memorable. It made me wonder whether other artists have designed bathrooms as well. Here’s what I found!

The artist Maurizio Cattelan has created a solid-gold toilet for a Guggenheim Museum restroom. And, yes, it is fully functional.
The toilet is an exact replica of the one that used to be there, but it looks a lot more powerful. What Cattelan seemed to like best was its democratic appeal. “Whatever you eat, a two-hundred-dollar lunch or a two-dollar hot dog, the results are the same, toilet-wise,” he said. (newyorker)
