A live portal between Lublin and Lithuania
It is so easy to believe we are each a wave and forget we are also the ocean. ๐
Vilnius - Portal
Prior to hopping on the train for their morning commutes, Vilnius, Lithuania, residents can greet pals passing through a main square in Lublin, Poland, despite being 376 miles apart. Thanks to โPortal,โ a sleek pair of screens installed in the city centers, passersby have the opportunity to wave hello and socialize with their counterparts just as if they were standing in front of each other on the street. Dubbed โa visual
bridge,โ the futuristic installation resembles large, round orbs embedded with screens and cameras that transmit views of the two locations in real-time. (Thisiscolossal)

Do
THROUGH CENTURIES PEOPLE CREATED A DEVASTATING SYSTEM IN WHICH WE DIVIDED OURSELVES INTOย USย ANDย THEM
Surrounding ourselves with only those who are near and speak the same language gives us comfort and a sense of stability. It also limits the world perspective to the narrow inner circle of ours. Slowly it becomes a perfect space to awaken insecurities towards those outside it and a perfect excuse to be careless about the world that belongs toย them. Every day there is less room left for dialogue, empathy, and compassion, for feeling and being united in our home โ a tinyย spaceshipย Earth rapidly decaying due to too many ofย them, and too little ofย us.ย It is so easy to believe we are each a wave and forget we are also the ocean. Letโs transcend this sense of separation and be the pioneers of unity. Portal website
